What to do if you have found an injured bird

If you find an injured bird, please take it to a care centre as soon as possible. It is important that it receives any necessary medical care immediately.

Please place the bird in a suitable sized box, with an old towel in the bottom if possible, and keep it somewhere quiet, if you are unable to get to a care centre right away.

You may offer the bird some glucose or sugared water, as this will help to sustain the bird until it reaches professional help, but NO milk.

If there are no apparant injuries, then the bird may be stunned. Should this be the case, 2 hours is sufficient time for recovery. The bird may then be released.
